Is it possible to impart the wisdom of the ages in selling and personal fortitude in 50 pages or less? I’ll argue that Jeff Bajorek has done just that in his book Rethink The Way You Sell: When It Goes Sideways.
You might think that when times get challenging and tough that the rules of selling and personal achievement change, and that entirely new strategies are needed. But in fact, it’s exactly the opposite. Challenging times force to look more closely at the very essence of our selling process and reevaluate their effectiveness.
What is changed however is level of stress and necessitates a reevaluation of our mindset and priorities.
That, in a nutshell is what Jeff Bajorek’s book is about – a refined evaluation of our core mindset and sales process. And it is spectacular.
An Economy of Words
Those who know me know that I prefer an economy of words. Don’t make me read 200 pages when what needs to be said can be done in 20. Rethink The Way You Sell: When It Goes Sideways does exactly that. Each page is filled with valuable and timeless advice where to place your focus when the chips are down – both from a sales and mindset perspective.
Reassess everything and reset where necessary. There is strength in the perspective of refreshing. Remember your priorities and what’s really important – perspective brings peace and insight. It also reveals the non-essential stuff needs to go out the window.
Are you truly brilliant at the basics or do you need to work on your core game?
Decide in advance how you will respond to adversity and remember that you are the best. Keep taking steps. Those steps develop faith and momentum. It’s also important to remember that it’s not good or necessary for you to run faster than you have strength. You have all you need to succeed right now.
These are just a fraction of the wisdom packed into this wonderful book. As I write this, I see that the Kindle version is available for just 99 cents. The wisdom in this book is worth 10,000 times that if applied. I don’t think there is a better investment of any sales professional’s time than to read this timeless book.
